Do you have a completely unsupportive partner who is very opposed to you starting a network marketing business online? Is it making you feel really frustrated that they can’t see your vision? I know how difficult this can be but there are ways of overcoming this issue and even getting your partner onside, in the process.

Firstly, I would point out that often times, when our spouses or partners come across as totally unsupportive, they are actually just worried about us. In a weird way, they are trying to protect us from ourselves. Think of it this way. Your partner may never have seen you in the role of an entrepreneur. Perhaps, up until this point in your life, you’ve been a total partier. Maybe you were a student, a home maker or possibly a professional in a totally different niche. Regardless of your focus, they may just not be used to seeing this ‘new’ you that wants to build a network marketing business online.

Is Your Network Marketing Business a Mistake

Therefore, they may feel that you are making a mistake and they don’t want to see you waste your time and money. As wrong-headed as you and I know that is, they don’t know it. Furthermore, they may not even totally understand why you want to do it in the first place. My point here is…..go easy on ’em….at least until you figure out their angle.

I’ve got 6 really simple tips that will really help you navigate this tough issue. If you follow these tips, they will go a long way toward getting your partner to warm up to the idea of your network marketing business. Here we go….

6 Really Simple Tips To Get More Support For Your Network Marketing Business

1) Personally Commit To Your Network Marketing Business

Make sure that you are fully committed in your head and heart, to making your business work. Be ready to plant your flag, burn the boat, and go until…

2) Make a Detailed Plan of Action

Take the time to write out precisely what you plan to do to build your network marketing business. For example, you will need to know exactly how much time you will devote to building your business and when you will do it. Additionally, you will need a game plan. Write out, in detail, what you plan to do over the course of the next 30, 60 or 90 days in your business. Set a goal and map out how you intend to reach it.

3) Have ‘The Talk’

No…not ‘THAT’ talk lol! You will need to have a true heart-to-heart conversation with your partner about your network marketing business. Tell them why it’s so critically important for you to do this and how it will benefit you, them and your life together.

Your partner may not realize how much you really want to do network marketing and it’s possible that simply letting them know that, could bring them around. Be honest. Get Vulnerable. Also, you will have to set some boundaries as to what you will and will not tolerate. I’m all for compromise, sugar, but don’t let anyone push you around. As much as possible, be clear about what you need.

Don’t Do THIS!

Moreover, what you definitely do NOT want to do here, is to try to convince them that a network marketing business is the bomb.com. Don’t start throwing out statistics and get all …”…at least I’m not stuck in a J.O.B!” on them. THAT won’t work…I promise. Avoid getting defensive or argumentative, at all costs. This will not serve you.

It’s far more effective and honest to just let them know how you really feel and give them ample room to react to what you are saying.

4) Follow Through

This is where so many people drop the ball. Follow through on what you said you were going to do in your network marketing business! Do it!

If you come out of the gate…all guns ablazin’…making a million promises to your partner…and then you don’t follow through, it’s over, honey. Truthfully, how can you expect your partner to support you if you don’t honour your word?

Alternately, if you are completely disciplined and focused and you follow through on your promises, your partner will see that. They will notice your determination and will respect it. When they see that you are actively making stuff happen, there is a very good chance they’ll start supporting your decision.

5) Get a Cheque!

Make it your mission to get paid as soon as humanly possible. I don’t care what you have to do…as long as it’s legal, moral and ethical…get yourself paid! Ultimately, it doesn’t even matter how much you earn. It could be a measly three bucks. As long as you have a cheque in your hand, you AND your partner will see that your network marketing business is truly for real. Most importantly here, if you can make a little, you can make a lot. Getting yourself a quick cheque goes a long way toward reinforcing your decision to build your business. In the eyes of your partner, it could be THE thing that wins them over.

6) Get Your Partner Involved

Now, I’m not saying that your partner is going to want to build your network marketing business with you. In fact, that may not even be ideal for your situation. What I AM saying, is that getting your spouse or partner involved in your new world, even in a small way, could help them see your vision.

Possibly, think about inviting them to an event or a team barbecue. If they can immerse themselves for a short time in the culture, they may begin to see why you are so excited about it. If they experience that for themselves, it will be a lot easier for them to come around to not only understanding your position, but supporting it.

Success in Your Network Marketing Business…

Ok, listen…they may never love it. It just might not be something they’re ever going to be into or riled up about and that’s alright. They don’t have to be…you do. At the end of the day, having their seal of approval makes life easier for you but it does not prevent you from having success in your network marketing business. I hope that much is clear.
